Yesterday the 8x Grammy Award winning r&b superstar dropped Master P inspired ‘No Limit’ featuring Cash Money rapper Young Thug. Today Usher drops part two of his monumental return “>Crash as it has the distinctive hypnotic Usher sound that has helped him to become one of the best-selling music artist of the 2000’s, with worldwide sales of over 75 million records overall.
Usher Cementing His Legacy As One Of The Greatest
Billboard crowned Usher the no. 1 Hot 100 Artist of the 2000s decade as the 37-year-old Usher had the most no. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 charts with 7 and held the no. 1 position for a total 42 weeks. He also scored eight No. 1s on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart more than any other artist. The 2004 release Confessions sold over 20 million copies worldwide, as the albums success enabled him to record the highest-ever first week sales by an R&B artist.
According to Chris Molanphy of The Village Voice, the success of the album exemplified the commercial peak of urban music during the early 2000s. In total, he has 9 number one Billboard Hot 100 singles, tied with the Bee Gees, Elton John, and Paul McCartney. Usher is also credited for his influence on many contemporary artists including Justin Beiber, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Neyo and August Alsina.
In his latest work he plans to cement his legacy as one of the greatest ever literally with the help of contemporary artist Daniel Arsham who designed the cover art for the two singles which is actually two different views of a real sculpture inspired by Usher. (See above).
Both singles are to appear on Usher’s forthcoming eight studio album Flawed. The song was written by Usher, Lee Stashenko, Carlos St. John, while production was handled by the latter one and f a l l e n.
