It’s obvious that Dr. Dre is about his money. Dr. Dre has filed a lawsuit against Death Row Records for $3 million in unpaid royalties.
According to legal documents obtained by Radar Online, the legendary hip-hop producer is seeking $676k in unpaid royalties for his album, The Chronic. He’s also asking for $1.2 million in unpaid artist-producer royalties as well as $1.179 million in digital sales.
Death Row Records, Dre’s former label, filed for bankruptcy in 2006 but was purchased by a new start-up company who purchased the rights to the Deathrow catalogue for 18 million. The company which is based in Toronto CA. started in 2006 and is called WIDEawake Entertainment Group, Inc.
Dr.Dre however is not hurting for loot, he took home $40 million just last year and signed a lucrative tech deal for his headphones company, Beats by Dre INC. that is sure to make him a boat load of loot for years to come.
