Ray J is formally charged with sexual battery for allegedly rubbing a girl’s butt at a bar

The Los Angeles County district attorney have formally charged R&B singer Ray J with 4 misdemeanor crimes , including sexual battery in connection with his brush in with the law last May.

According to sources , Ray J was at a bar at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel when he was accused of brushing up against a woman’s butt and was ordered to leave but refused.

As a result of his refusal to leave he was taken into custody which he resisted as he felt he did nothing wrong.

In addition , Ray J was charged with assault and battery , for allegedly spitting on an officer and vandalism , for kicking out the window of the police car because he was claustrophobic.

According to sources Ray J was not charged with sexual battery the day of the incident because the alleged contact was “incidental”. But sexual battery was later added by the D.A’s office.

Although all four of the crimes are misdemeanors , if convicted the maximum punishment is typically 24 months incarceration in a local jail as contrasted with prison. Or Ray J may be charged with a fine and probation.
