Well, what is this? Seems like R Kelly can’t live free of scandal. There’s always another piece of the puzzle, revealing some type of shady nature. Typically, it has something to do with his sexual perversions but today, it’s an all out man war…ok I exaggerate.

In an interview with Vlad Tv, Joe spoke about R Kelly refusing to work with people who played his music. See what he had to say.

“It’s funny because I was getting credible information from [program directors] and friends of mine as well. This guy has no idea these were my friends as well that you’re talking to. And, as if they’re really going to stop playing my record because you said ‘if you don’t stop playing his record I’m never going to come back to the show…’ It was really one of those things like you can’t really be serious.”

And while Joe says he heard this from several people, he’s still willing to give Kellz the benefit of the doubt.

“To me though it’s still alleged because I don’t have facts on it, But… naw there’s no possible way I would allow that to happen because of the relationships I’ve built in the industry as well. No one man has all that power. Trust me when I tell you.”

So what caused this tension then? Obviously, Joe doesn’t know but he says he thinks it was a bit of jealousy and perhaps R Kelly feeling threatened that Joe was going to come and take his spot.

Never any altercation. I think sometimes when you feel a little bit of that threat, someone in your lane. When you got that lane wide open you’re able drive how you want. Almost like you’re the only on that lane and the only car allowed to drive on that lane. And now here I am on that bumper kind of tapping you a little bit like, ‘Move, man.’ Like, ‘You ain’t the only one here. You’re hogging he lane up.’ I think that was what it was. It was a little bit of a threat not that side. Because he don’t even know how much I respect him as far as his music goes. I think he’s an incredible talent but I got a nice whip too.

DJ Vlad suggested maybe it was the similar steez, the shaved head, fit frame and smooth vocals that made R feel like Joe was coming for his position. Joe says his decision to get rid of his hair had nothing to do with trying to look like R Kelly.

I don’t know but I had to get rid of mine. My dad messed my hair line up, like years ago. It was time to get rid of that. And I think a few of your listeners they should take that into consideration. get rid of it man let that thing go. You’ll look different, you’re still you, it’s alright.

What do you think about these accusations? A part of me wonders why R Kelly would ever be jealous of Joe. I mean, while I would argue that Joe has a nicer voice, with more range, R Kelly has been far more successful. The man has hits for days, and not just the ones he’s written for himself either. His career writing and producing for some of the biggest artists in the game has been just as lucrative.
