Here is something that is surprising. Recently , in a ‘Itsthereal’ podcast interview Jay Z’s producer DJ Clark Kent right before Tupac’s death Jay Z was set to go after the fellow New York rapper in a lyrical battle in response to on “Bomb First (My Second Reply)” and “F— Friends”, where Tupac went after Roca-fella founder.

Boombox.com reports:

“With all of this talk surrounding rap feuds in the past few weeks, no rap beef was bigger in hip-hop than the war between the late rappers Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur. Now comes word that Jay Z had a diss track aimed at 2Pac but never released it.

In an interview on the A Waste of Time With ItsTheReal podcast, Hov’s longtime producer DJ Clark Kent revealed that Jay was ready to unleash a response track against ‘Pac after he dissed the Roc-A-Fella founder on “Bomb First (My Second Reply)” and “F— Friends.”

“It never came out because out of respect for the fact that he died,” said Kent. “Jay did a record going at ‘Pac, but right as it was about to come out, son died.”

Shakur died in a 1996 drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. His murder is still unsolved. Kent said that Jay Z did perform the diss track at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, N.Y. “You have to understand. The chip on Jay’s shoulder is so crazy, it’s just like he had to perform it,” he said.

“It was scathing,” he added. “Crowds was like, ‘Oh, s—.’ It was super hard. It was super hard. If he was alive, there would have been no coming back… this was so tough. To me, it probably was one of the hardest diss records I’ve ever heard.”

Can you imagine if Jay Z and 2Pac engaged in a lyrical feud with each other? That would have been a rap battle to remember.”
