Guess Who Made Forbes Magazine Hip Hop Top Earners List?

Forbes magazine just released their annual list of top hip hop earners and it should come as no surprise that Dr. Dre earned top honors after the sale of Beats Electronics to Apple computers. The hip hop mogul brought in a whopping $620 million before taxes to easily make him the highest annual cash king for 2014 by Forbes magazine. In fact, Dre broke a record in earnings with more than the combined earnings of all 24 of his peers on this year’s hip hop cash kings list.

The deal with Apple was worth an estimated $3 billion for the sale of beat electronics which he founded with Interscope records executive Jimmy Iovine.

Last year’s cash king Diddy tied with Jay Z for second at $60 million. Jay earnings are his highest since 2010 , and include his Roc Nation empire , which includes his artist & sports management firms ,his record-breaking ‘On the run tour’ with wife Beyonce, D’Usse cognac and his album Magna Carta…Holy Grail , which was certified platinum even before it was released.

Diddy’s Ciroc vodka accounts for the lion’s share of his empire , with other factors including , Deleon tequila , Blue Flame marketing , Sean John and his new music channel REVOLT TV.

Drake tripled his earnings from 2013 and out earned Kanye West by $3 million bringing in a total of $33 million thanks to his quadruple platinum album “Nothing was the same , an arena tour and an endorsement deal with Nike’s Jordan brand.
