DMX is coming out with a brand new album.
Grammy nominated rapper DMX is putting his troubles behind him and is ready to make his grand return. According to longtime friend and collaborator Swizz Beats, DMX is clean and focused after years of substance abuse setbacks. Although Swizz Beats did not say the name or when the album will be released he did say that the iconic hip-hop veteran will be collaborating with Kanye West and Dr. Dre to resurrect his signature sound. Taking to Instagram a few weeks ago, Swizz Beatz, revealed the news, expressing to fans the following:
I am truly ultra proud of the steps my brother has been taking to greatness Some people think it's easy to shake unfortunate situations but it's not! I would love for all the fans to hit up @DMX and show him love for being focused, clean, & ready to earn back his crown Long live the Dog AKA my brother AKA the Great Love you for life!! RR 4 Life!! Let's get 'em!!Album sounding nice king….. We're just waiting on DRE & Kanye tracks to wrap up!!!!
DMX’s first major-label album, It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot, which included the single “Ruff Ryders Anthem”, was released in May 1998. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S and sold over five million copies. Later that year , Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, where it remained for three consecutive weeks eventually being certified Platinum four times.
DMX released his third and best-selling album …And Then There Was X, on December 21, 1999. His third album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200. Its most popular single, “Party Up”, became his first Top Ten hit on the R&B charts. The album was certified Platinum six times.
Since DMX’s debut album he has sold over 20 million albums and is the first rapper to have two number one albums in on Billboard 200 in the same year.
