Black don’t crack! The fact that Prince still looks the same 38 years later is truly remarkable. The purple one’s career has spanned almost 4 decades. With 39 studio albums and over 100 million records sold, Prince is easily one of the greatest musicians of all-time. In the picture above, from 1978, he sports an afro, a look he returned to in 2016, almost 38 years later.

19-year-old Prince recorded several unsuccessful demo tapes before releasing his debut album For You in 1978. Prince produced, arranged, composed and played all 27 instruments on the recording.The lead off single “Soft and Wet” reached No. 12 on the Hot Soul Singles chart and No. 92 on the Billboard Hot 100. His 1979 album Prince went platinum due to the success of the singles “Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?” and “I Wanna Be Your Lover”.
