A Game Of Basketball Becomes A Life Lesson In Kendrick Lamar’s New Video “Hard Work”

| December 29, 2015 | 0 Comments

Directed by Davide Meyers and the Little Homies, Kendrick Lamar plays a “big brother” of sorts shooting hoops with a young boy and schooling him along the way.

The piece opens with a one-on-one game that gets interrupted by a fan showing love to K-Dot. The boy can’t help but marvel at Lamar’s fame, but the Compton rapper shrugs it off and says the fan merely “recognizes hard work.”

The video ends by acknowledging Kendrick’s staggering 11 Grammy nominations, which makes him the second most nominated artist in a year, only trailing Michael Jackson with 12.
