50 Cent’s epic Starz original series Power is returning for a third season on July 17th. Since the magnetic drama took off in June 2014, the series gained a strong following in what Variety called the biggest concentrated black audience for a scripted premium series since HBO’s “The Wire” in 2006. But according to sources the Rapper and executive producer of the series is tired of trying to prove his creative abilities to entertainment’s most elite establishments.

As fans gear up to tune into Starz drama Power this summer, the rapper has realized there’s an approval he won’t obtain from Hollywood. 50 Cent raps:

“I never took a straight path nowhere, bumps and bruises I live I learn…” “Homie I grow up from hell a block away from heaven…”

“They say it’s a big rich town…I just come from the poorest part…bright lights city life I gotta to make it, this is where it goes down..I just happen to come up hard…legal or illegal I gotta make it…”

To celebrate the premiere, 50 Cent, Omari Hardwick, Rotimi, and Joseph Sikora all appear on Vibe’s current cover.
