21 And Counting, Serena Williams Gets Closer To Grand Slam Titles Record

| July 11, 2015 | 0 Comments

Serena Williams has done it again. 13 years after the number one ranked tennis player won her first Wimbledon title she claims her 6th Wimbledon title and 21st Grand Slam title beating promising Spaniard Garbine Muguruza 6-4 6-4 in Southwest London.

Williams completes the “Serena Slam”-wining four straight majors-for the second time in her career and is now well on the way to making more history at the season’s final grand slam.

Williams is only 3 wins away from tying the all time winning-est tennis player Margaret Court who amassed more major titles than any other player in history at 24.

In 1970, Court also became the first woman during the open era (and the second woman in history) to win the singles Grand Slam (all four major tournaments in the same calendar year).
